The AI Fellowship Toronto Chapter is a volunteer-driven community bringing together people across Toronto who want to learn about, build with, and shape the future of artificial intelligence — thoughtfully and together. It was created around a simple idea: AI is not just a technology shift — it’s a societal one — and communities will play a major role in determining how it unfolds. Whether someone is opening ChatGPT for the first time, building production AI systems, researching frontier models, or exploring how AI applies to their industry, there is a place for them in the Fellowship. The Toronto chapter focuses on four core areas: Build AI literacy Practical events, workshops, and resources designed for every level — from beginner introductions to advanced technical and strategic conversations. Find your people A place to meet peers across startups, enterprise, research, education, creative industries, and nonprofits — building real relationships around shared curiosity and practical collaboration. Put AI to work Hands-on workshops, projects, demos, and conversations that help members move from learning to real-world application. Do this responsibly Ethics, governance, privacy, and safety are woven into the community from the start. Responsible AI isn’t treated as an add-on — it’s part of every conversation. What also makes the Toronto chapter unique is that it is 100% volunteer-driven. There is no paid staff — the events, partnerships, resources, and community are shaped by members who contribute time, ideas, expertise, and energy to help build something meaningful together. Built in Toronto and connected to a growing global network, the chapter exists to help make AI more approachable, more practical, and more human — while creating space for important conversations about where the technology is headed and how we want to shape what comes next.
